RESULTS
GAMBIER, Ohio – Twelve seniors on the Kenyon Ladies swimming and diving team were honored as the squad dispatched of Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday night at a fan-filled James A. Steen Aquatics Center.
The Ladies defeated the Battling Bishops 137-77 to improve their dual-meet record to 5-4.
Kenyon's senior celebration was started by
Kendall Vanderhoof in the 200 free. She touched the wall in 1:52.63 while newcomer
Ania Axas took the runner-up spot (1:53.53).
Later, senior
Natalie Bresnahan posted a season-best time and winning mark of 52.36 in the 100-yard free while classmate
Princess Vilan Ferguson-Nguyen followed closely behind (52.79). Towards the end of competition,
Gail Anderson became the team's third senior to record a win. Her time of 5:04.92 was a season-best in the 500-yard free.
To cap off the senior victories,
Maddie Lockyer won both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards by totaling 342.15 and 340.80 points, respectively.
Apart from those performances from Kenyon's senior class, there were also a few more wins delivered by the other classes. First-year
Alexandra White was victorious in the 50 free with a season-best time of 23.81.
Three juniors,
Claire Murray,
Makena Markert and
Crile Hart, won the 400-yard individual medley, 100 breaststroke and 100 backstroke, respectively, while sophomore
Racine Ross took gold in the 100 butterfly with a 'B' cut time of 56.24.
Tomorrow, the team will travel to Cleveland State University for a dual-meet starting at 10:30 a.m.
