GAMBIER, Ohio -- D3baseball.com and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) unveiled their 2023 NCAA Division III All-Region teams on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, and Edwin Groff represented Kenyon College in the designated hitter spot on each squad. The Owls' sophomore was selected to D3baseball.com's All-Region First Team for Region 7 and slotted into the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Second Team. 

The D3baseball.com All-Region squad is composed of 42 total players, including 14 on each of the first, second, and third teams. The ABCA honored 50 All-Region members, including 20 second-team players and 15 on both the first and third teams. Each All-Region team included three spots for designated hitters, where Groff produced impressive numbers all season.

The sophomore, also named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference First Team, led the conference with a .443 batting average that ranks 28th amongst NCAA Division III players and is the second-highest single-season mark in Kenyon history. Groff racked up 62 hits, 38 RBIs, 38 runs, 16 doubles, five home runs, and four triples. His .721 slugging percentage paced the NCAC and combined with his eighth-ranked on-base percentage (.477) for an OPS of 1.198 that ranked second.

Amongst NCAC leaders, the DH tied for fourth in doubles and triples, sixth in hits, and 10th in home runs. The Los Angeles, California, native's runs batted in ranked second on the team and 14th in the conference, while his runs scored also ranked second on the Owls and tied for 12th in the NCAC.
