NCAC selects Hahn for Athlete of the Week honor

CLEVELAND -- Logging a top-15 individual finish in a field of nearly 100 golfers at the Wabash College Invitational, Kenyon College first-year Andrew Hahn turned in a three-round performance that led to him being the choice for the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Athlete of the Week award.

The conference office made the announcement Tuesday, marking Hahn's first collegiate weekly honor and also marking the third time in the last four weeks that a Kenyon golfer gained the NCAC award.

Hahn, playing in just his second collegiate competition, was the Owls leader at Wabash's Invitational, held at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. He fired a perfectly consistent even-par on the par-72 course, posting a score of 72 in each of the Invitational's three rounds.

He got off to a bit of a rocky start in Monday's first round, charting a four-over on the first three holes. He rebounded nicely, though, recording just one more bogey, as well as five birdies the rest of the way. The second round was also played Monday and Hahn came back with a round that included five more birdies to keep him even.

In Tuesday's third and final round, Hanh was a bit more steady, posting two bogeys and two birdies. His final three-round score of 216 put him in an individual finish for 14th place and helped the Owls to a team finish of fifth place among 17 other teams.

Hanh and the rest of the Owls are finishing off their fall season schedule today, as they concluded the two-day, three-round Tartan Invitational hosted by Carnegie Mellon University.
