LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Racing on the national stage at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, the Kenyon College women's cross country team turned in a strong performance at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Championship. The Owls placed 16th out of 37 teams, totaling 471 points, their best regional finish since the 2021 season, when they placed 15th.
Junior Olivia Ide once again led the charge for Kenyon, matching her role from last season and delivering a standout effort. Ide covered the six-kilometer course in 23:19.44, improving on her 2024 regional time of 23:46.49 and placing 47th overall in a field of 261 runners.
Senior Anna Brown capped off her career with another consistent performance, taking 59th place with a time of 23:31.10. Sophomore Cassidy Kaler was next across the line for the Owls, clocking 24:28.19 to secure 102nd place.
Kenyon's scoring five was completed by junior Hannah Gross, who ran 25:00.49, and sophomore Lucie Prior, who followed at 25:19.15 to solidify the team's top-20 regional finish.
On the team leaderboard, Trine University captured the regional title with 58 points. Calvin University finished second with 91 points, while Hope College secured third with 122. North Coast Athletic Conference foes John Carroll University (135) and Ohio Wesleyan University (152) rounded out the top five.
The individual regional champion was Calvin's Sophie Bull, who won the race with a time of 21:40.85.
