Owls finalize national ITA rank at No. 13

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association released Wednesday its final national and regional rankings for the 2024-25 season. As a team, the Kenyon College Owls claimed the No. 13 spot in the national ranking and the No. 4 spot in the Central Region ranking.

Those positions were the program's best since the 2018-19 team finished its season with a No. 11 national rank and a No. 3 regional rank.

Overall, the 2024-25 Owls put up a 19-6 record, including a 6-1 mark in North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) competition. Five of the team's six losses came to teams ranked within the ITA's Top-25. The Owls took the runner-up spot in the NCAC Tournament and earned an at-large berth into the NCAA Division III Tournament, where they defeated No. 16-ranked Haverford College in the first round and then lost to No. 5-ranked Case Western Reserve University in the second round.

The ITA also released Wednesday its rankings for singles and doubles players. Kenyon junior Paulo Pocasangre Kreling made an appearance on both lists. For singles play, Pocasangre Kreling, who posted a 20-9 record, earned a No. 21 national rank and a No. 8 regional rank. For doubles, he, along with sophomore Alejandro Gonzalez, claimed a No. 29 national rank and a No. 8 regional rank. The two combined to produce a 16-9 record this past season.
