Gambier, Ohio – Coming off one of its strongest seasons in recent memory, the Kenyon College men's tennis team enters the new campaign with momentum and expectations. The Owls return after a 19-win season, an appearance in the NCAC Tournament final, and a run to the NCAA Division III Tournament, as Kenyon looks to build on last spring's success and contend once again on the conference and national stage.
2025 Review
The Owls are coming off a strong 2025 campaign that saw the Owls post a 19-6 overall record and a 6-1 mark in NCAC play. Kenyon advanced to the NCAC Tournament final after a dominant 5-0 victory over DePauw University, before falling to Denison University, 4-1, in the championship match. The Owls earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Team Championship, receiving a first-round bye before defeating Haverford College, 4-0, in the second round. Kenyon's season came to a close in the third round with a 4-0 loss to Case Western Reserve University. In individual postseason play,
Paulo Pocasangre Kreling represented the Owls at the NCAA Division III Singles Championship, where he competed in the first round of the national tournament.
Coaching Staff
Head coach
Andrew Carlson enters the season continuing his reign of the Kenyon men's tennis program. After shifting to focus solely on the men's side in 2024-25, Carlson guided the Owls to a 19-win season, an NCAC Tournament runner-up finish, and a return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2019.
NCAC Preseason
Denison University is tabbed to finish at the top of the table after earning all eight first-place votes and 81 points in the 2026 NCAC preseason poll. The Owls come in second, right where they were last year, sitting at 72 points. DePauw University took the stand at third with 62 points, while Wabash college secured fourth with a tally of points behind (51). Just two points behind is Oberlin College, coming in at a total of 49 points. The College of Wooster (29), Ohio Wesleyan University (28), John Carroll University (22), and Wittenberg University (11) closed out the table, filling in the final four spots.
Returning Leaders
Team captain and Kenyon's No.1 Pocasanre Kreling is set to return for his senior season after a 2025 season that saw him etch a record of 20-9 overall and was previously ranked at No.16 nationally in singles play. In doubles play, he alongside junior
Alejandro Gonzalez, claimed a No. 29 national rank and a No.8 regional rank with the two combining to produce a 16-9 record last season. Gonzalez is the sole owner of the No. 2 spot in the Owls' lineup, with a record of 21-6, a team-best. At No.1, Gonzalez has played three matches and won all three. Sophomore
Juozas Cioladis earned his first All-NCAC award by going 18-7 in single play. The majority of his matches were played at the No.4 spot, where he was 7-6, but outside of that spot he was a perfect 7-0 in dual matches.
