ITA recognizes Kenyon’s academic success

GILBERT, Ariz. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced the names of those who earned 2025-26 NCAA Division III Men's Scholar-Athlete status, as well as the Division III squads that earned the ITA All-Academic Team award.

The Kenyon Owls not only collected the ITA All-Academic Team award, but had four individuals named ITA Scholar-Athletes. Those individuals included: Eliezer Gonzalez, Maximo Llamas Castellanos, Stylianos Papamichael, and Paulo Pocasangre Kreling.

To gain the ITA Scholar-Athlete honor, a student-athlete had to possess a grade point average of 3.50 or better for this past academic year and had to be listed on their school's institutional eligibility form. Both Pocasangre Kreling and Gonzalez graduated as three-time winners of the award. Kenyon's other two honorees were both first-years in 2025-26 and first-time winners of the academic award.

The ITA All-Academic Team award, which the Kenyon men have now won 10 consecutive seasons and 19 times overall, is given to those member schools that possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. The Owls easily cleared that mark, as the 10 members on the 2025-26 roster combined to post a grade point average of 3.31.

On the court, the 2025-26 Owls produced a 22-5 record. They made an appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, winning one match, and finished the season with a No.11 national rank from the ITA.
