GAMBIER, Ohio – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2025 NCAA Division III Football Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, and Kenyon College placed six student-athletes on the list, recognizing their excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Kenyon's 2025 Academic All-District honorees include
Dylan Carlquist,
Tyler Gladden,
Will Ehrlich,
Jared Hancock,
Trey Rutherford, and
Dominic Simpson.
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must be key contributors who participate in at least 90 percent of their team's contests or start 66 percent of those competitions, be on the active roster for a minimum of two years, and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
Carlquist, a senior wide receiver with a 3.55 GPA as a double major in psychology and economics, earned the distinction for the third time in his career. He has been a steady contributor throughout his tenure and continues to represent the Owls with distinction both academically and athletically.
Gladden also made his first appearance on the Academic All-District team. The sophomore wide receiver, an economics major with a 3.74 GPA, emerged as Kenyon's top receiving option, leading the team with 27 receptions and 333 receiving yards.
Ehrlich, a senior linebacker with a 3.78 GPA in physics, secured his third Academic All-District selection. He played in nine games during the season, recording one solo tackle and one assisted tackle while providing leadership within the Owls' defensive unit.
Hancock, another three-time honoree, was a cornerstone of the Kenyon defense this season. The senior linebacker and chemistry major holds a 3.70 GPA and played in nine games, totaling 42 tackles, including 23 solo stops and 19 assists, while adding 3.5 sacks, which ranked fourth on the team. He was also a 2024 All-NCAC Third Team selection.
Rutherford earned his second appearance on the Academic All-District team as a junior offensive lineman with a 3.79 GPA while majoring in history and American studies. He played in all 10 games and was a key contributor to an offensive line that helped Kenyon average 239.6 yards per game and score 21 total touchdowns.
Simpson, a junior defensive back with a 3.79 GPA in molecular biology, collected his second CSC Academic All-District honor. A 2024 All-NCAC Second Team selection and 2023 All-NCAC Third Team honoree, he anchored the secondary by leading the team with 73 total tackles, including 46 solo stops and 27 assists. Simpson also tied for the team lead with two interceptions and added four pass breakups on the season.
