CLEVELAND -- Competing in Saturday's Highlander Invitational, hosted by Houghton University, the Kenyon College men's cross country team was paced by sophomore
Noah Berg, who claimed an overall 10th-place finish. Tuesday, three days after the race, Berg was voted the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week for the first time in his collegiate career.
Berg ran through the 8k course in a personal record time of 25:36.3, topping his previous best 8k time of 26:32.6, set last year in Louisville. Berg's time also put him among the race's top-six percent within a field that held 185 runners. Additionally, it helped Kenyon, as a team, take second place among 12 other squads.
Berg and the rest of the Owls team will return to competition Saturday, in Oberlin College's Regional Rumble.
