Owls crowned NCAC Champions after 3-1 win

GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon College men's soccer team celebrated its graduating senior class and was officially crowned the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Champions after today's 3-1 victory over The College of Wooster. 

Right from kick-off, the Owls started the game with urgency and offensive momentum. In just the ninth minute, Lucas de Alarcon netted his eighth goal of the season off a pass from Luca Bilotto. Both de Alarcon and Bilotto have offensively contributed all season, holding 22 and 21 points, respectively.

Almost ten minutes later, Andrew Adams scored from outside the 18-yard box after he sent the ball into the upper right corner at the 18:52 minute mark. Assisted by Moustapha Gassama and de Alarcon, Adams netted his fifth goal of the season and sits in third on the team with 13 points.

Right after Wooster fired off their first shot of the game, the Owls drew a foul in the 24th minute, just outside scoring distance. With the ball bouncing around, Emmett Brown flicked the ball backwards over his head for Peter Bondartsov to flick back post. Junior defender Kevin Farina was there to put the ball into the back of the net at 25:03, pushing the Owls to lead, 3-0.

The Owls kept that lead until the 78th minute when the Scots set up a numbers-advantage play and capitalized. They cut the game to 3-1 and used the momentum to try and get some offensive movement started.

Ultimately, Kenyon remained composed in possession until the final whistle of the game. They outshot Wooster, 16-2, and secured the first-place finish in NCAC standings for the 2026 season.

The Owls will be back in action at home for the NCAC Tournament Semifinal round. They are set to play Thursday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m.
