Renovation underway at Softball Complex

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Despite frigid temperatures and snow-covered ground, construction is well underway at the Kenyon College Softball Complex. A team from The Motz Group is currently working to install a synthetic turf infield with the aim of project completion in time for the Owls' home opener, slated for Sunday, March 22.

For years now, the field at the Softball Complex has had issues with drainage, often causing postponements and cancellations. The new turf, as well as the new drainage system underneath it, will allow for more consistent in-game play, as well as far fewer scheduling obstacles. Additionally, new bullpens are being installed as part of the project.

The Motz Group possesses more than 45 years of experience in the field industry and has installed more than 750 fields at the high school, collegiate, and professional playing levels. The Motz Group is very familiar with the Kenyon campus, having already installed synthetic turf at McBride Field and The Field at Benson Bowl.
