Nee’s hot bat lands NCAC weekly honor

CLEVELAND – The North Coast Athletic Conference announced its Athletes of the Week for April 21, with Kenyon College junior Tyler Nee earning Baseball Athlete of the Week honors after helping ignite the Owls' offense during a conference doubleheader sweep of Wabash College. The recognition marks Kenyon baseball's first weekly honor of the season and the first of Nee's collegiate career.

Nee turned in a standout weekend at the plate, combining to go 5-for-7 with four runs scored, one RBI and a walk.

The third baseman delivered his biggest performance in Saturday's dramatic opener, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a walk. Nee wasted little time making his impact felt, ripping a triple down the right-field line in the bottom of the first inning and later scoring to get Kenyon on the board early. He continued to apply pressure throughout the game, collecting hits in multiple innings and repeatedly sparking rallies as the Owls battled back-and-forth with the Little Giants before ultimately securing an 11-10 victory in extra innings.

Nee followed that performance with another showing in Sunday's second game. He finished 1-for-3 with one run scored and one RBI, contributing to Kenyon's early offensive push. In the second inning, Nee once again delivered in a key moment, launching a run-scoring triple to right field that extended the Owls' lead and helped fuel a four-run frame.

Up next, Nee and the Owls will travel to Delaware, Ohio, for an NCAC doubleheader against Ohio Wesleyan University, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
