GAMBIER, Ohio – Kenyon College senior
Ethan Manske stands as the Owls' lone representative on the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Academic All-America First Team, as announced Wednesday afternoon.
Manske was one of just 25 NCAA Division III swimmers and divers selected to this year's Academic All-America teams, with eight earning first-team honors, 10 named to the second team, and seven placed on the third team.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-America consideration, student-athletes must be key contributors, competing in at least five competitions or posting a top-eight finish at their conference championship meet. Nominees must also be on their institution's active roster for at least two years and carry a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50. Additionally, all Academic All-America selections must first earn Academic All-District honors through an initial round of voting conducted prior to national balloting.
A Japanese and environmental studies double major, Manske continued to excel both in the pool and in the classroom throughout his career. At the conference championships, he claimed individual titles in the 400 individual medley and 200 butterfly, while also helping Kenyon's 800-yard freestyle relay team secure a second-place finish.
On the national stage, Manske delivered another standout performance. He helped the Owls to a fourth-place finish in the 400 individual medley (3:51.23) and a third-place showing in the 800-freestyle relay (6:27.66). Across the meet, he earned four NCAA Division III All-America honors, bringing his career total to 14.
In the classroom, Manske's résumé is equally impressive. He is a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection, a three-time CSC Academic All-America First Team honoree, and a three-time College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American First Team recipient.
With his latest recognition, Manske becomes just the second men's swimmer in program history to earn three Academic All-America selections and the first to achieve first-team honors in all three of those selections.
