HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – Two members of the Kenyon College men's golf team earned spots on the 2026 NCAA Division III PING Region V All-Region Team, as announced by the NCAA in coordination with the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Sophomore
Connor Gray and junior
Jonathan Oakes represented the Owls on the Region V list, which featured 15 golfers from across the region. In all, players from seven regions and 58 schools earned all-region recognition in 2026.
The honor added to what has been a standout postseason awards stretch for both Gray and Oakes. Each recently earned All-North Coast Athletic Conference First Team honors, while Oakes also claimed his second consecutive Dick Gordin Award, presented annually to the NCAC Player of the Year.
Gray picked up the all-region honor after putting together an impressive sophomore campaign near the top of Kenyon's lineup. He played 27 rounds this season and finished with 1,983 strokes, just one stroke behind Oakes for the team lead. Gray posted a 73.44 scoring average, fired a low round of 66, and led the Owls with 10 rounds at par or better. He also recorded one top-five finish and two top-10 placements.
Oakes earned a spot on the PING All-Region Team for another season after continuing to establish himself as one of the top golfers in both the conference and region. The junior repeated as the NCAC's Player of the Year and was named All-NCAC First Team for the second straight season. He recorded three top-10 finishes this season, highlighted by a third-place showing at the 2026 NCAC Championship, where he carded a 221 total. Oakes opened the championship with rounds of 77 and 76 before closing with a 68, the lowest round of the tournament.
The Tarrytown, New York, native entered the NCAA Championship as the highest-ranked golfer in the NCAC, sitting No. 6 in Region V and No. 38 nationally in NCAA Division III. He also owned a 71.6 scoring average, according to the NCAC's all-conference release.
Gray and Oakes will now turn their attention to the NCAA Division III Championship, which begins Tuesday, May 12, and runs through Friday, May 15, at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
