Kenyon makes the cut at NCAAs, sits 7th

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – After two rounds at the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships, the Kenyon College men's golf team has made the 18-team cut for the third consecutive season.

The Owls shot a seven over par mark at the Las Colinas course for the second round, led by Adrian Jordan's even par 72. This moves the team score to +5 for the tournament, good enough to slot into 7th place to comfortably make the final 36 holes of play.

Jordan led Kenyon for the second straight round, shooting 72 for the round. The sophomore bogeyed his opening hole and followed it up with eight straight pars. He went one-under for his back nine, rolling in two birdies to play his final eight holes at two under. He currently sits in a tie for second on the individual leaderboard after remaining at -5 for the tournament.

Rafael Frias IV slotted second for the Owls on the day, shooting 74 (+2). He opened with a birdie on his first hole and made one more on his front nine en route to a 36. The junior made one bogey to go along with eight pars, slotting him in tied for 32 for the tournament.

Two birdies on the first two holes put Jaiden Koonar's round off to a great start, ending the front nine with a 36 (+1). A birdie and two more bogeys on his second nine left him at +2 for the day and +3 for the tournament, good enough for a T41 individually.

Connor Gray made three double bogeys but came back with three birdies for his second round at Las Colinas, shooting two under par for his final six holes. He ended up three over for the day (75) and sits at five over for the tournament, putting him in a tie for 61st.

Rounding out the Owls group but not counting towards the team score was Jonathan Oakes, who shot 76 for the second round in a row. He made two birdies for the round, but four bogeys and a double stopped him from getting into red figures.

After 36 holes, Illinois Wesleyan University took command of first place at five under par. Washington and Lee University (-2), Carnegie Mellon University (-1) and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (-1) are the remaining teams under par. Methodist University at +3 and Emory College at +4 are ahead of Kenyon.

The final two rounds of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship will be played at the El Campeon course. Kenyon will be back on the course Thursday morning.
