Owls obtain NCAA Championship at-large berth

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- For the third straight season and the fourth time in the past five seasons, the Kenyon College men's golf team earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship. The announcement was made Monday by the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Committee.

Forty-three teams and ten individuals, not on one of those teams, were selected to participate in the 2026 championship for a total of 225 participants. Thirty-four conferences were awarded automatic qualification for the championship. The final nine berths were at-large selections, one of which Kenyon received.

The four-round championship will be held May 12-15 at Mission Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. First- and second-round competition will be played simultaneously on El Campeon and Las Colinas courses with the final two rounds played on El Campeon. After 36 holes of competition, the field will be cut to the top 18 teams and top six individuals not on one of those teams.

At last year's NCAA Championship, held in New York, Kenyon made the cut and finished in a tie for 13th place. The previous year, when the championship was in Nevada, the Owls finished in a tie for eighth place.

This year's Kenyon roster still has two golfers—juniors Jonathan Oakes and Jaiden Koonar—who played in both of those championships, while two others—junior Oliver McGovern and sophomore Adrian Jordan—played in last year's championship.
