CARLISLE, Pa. – Three different Kenyon College Ladies scored a pair of goals in Saturday's lacrosse game, but that wasn't nearly enough to keep pace with the host Dickinson College Red Devils, who caught fire and ran away with a 20-8 non-conference win.
Dickinson (3-2) rattled off the first three goals of the game. Kenyon freshman Jane Symmes then scored her first collegiate goal. That, however, was followed by another trio of Red Devil scores and the Ladies were staring at a 6-1 deficit about halfway through the first half. Senior
Emily Nichols netted two more Kenyon goals before the break, but Dickinson wound up scoring a dozen first-half goals, including four from Carly O'Brein.
Symmes scored again in the second half and
Amy Morgan later fired in back-to-back tallies during a four-minute span.
Leah Sack, who had two assists, and
Alex Bair accounted for the other two Kenyon goals, but the Ladies (1-1) were unable to get any closer than ten goals the rest of the way.
In front of the Kenyon goal, sophomore
Meredith Bentsen made nine saves.
Next up for the Purple and White is a trip to Kissimmee, Florida, where they'll take on Colby-Sawyer College at ESPN's Wide World of Sports Complex. That game is slated for a 1 p.m. start on Tuesday.
