CSC picks Owls trio for Academic All-District Team

GAMBIER, Ohio -- Three members of the Kenyon College women's lacrosse team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) 2025-26 At-Large Academic All-District Team. The trio included seniors Spencer Kirsch and Lily Mason, as well as sophomore Ashley Auerbach.

In order to be considered for the At-Large Academic All-District Team, a nominee had to be on the team's active roster for at least two years and had to possess at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Additionally, for lacrosse, the nominees had to compete in a minimum of 90 percent of the team's games, or had to start a minimum of 66 percent of the team's games.

The CSC At-Large program includes nominees from 13 different NCAA women's sports (three of which Kenyon offers), and limits each institution to six nominees. Kenyon filled that allotment with the three lacrosse athletes, as well as three from the field hockey team.

Kirsch, who is now a two-time winner of the CSC academic award, played midfield and graduated in May after majoring in both psychology and Spanish. On the field, she led the 2026 Owls team with 39 goals and 46 points in 17 games played. She also racked up 42 draw controls, 22 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. At season's end she was named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Team for the second time in her career.

Mason, the 2023 NCAC Newcomer of the Year, was named to her third All-NCAC Team at the conclusion of the 2026 campaign. She, too, handled duties in the midfield while posting 33 points on 31 goals and a pair of assists. She led the team with 55 draw controls, 23 caused turnovers, and 32 ground balls. Mason, a first-time winner of the CSC academic award, graduated in May with a degree in sociology.

Auerbach, a biochemistry major, is also a first time pick on the CSC Academic All-District Team. Playing attack for most of the season, she ranked third on the team with 33 goals and ranked fourth on the team with 36 points. She played all 17 games, tallied a dozen ground balls and five caused turnovers.

The three Kenyon honorees helped the Owls to a 9-8 overall record, which included a third place finish in the NCAC standings with a 5-2 mark.
