HIRAM, Ohio  – The Kenyon College men's lacrosse team set a new season high in goals scored in their 17-1 trouncing of the Hiram College Terriers, Saturday afternoon. Zach Arlia led the Lords with three goals while four different Kenyon players recorded multiple scores in the victory.

Kenyon jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter of action and wasted no time to get on the scoreboard. Nicky Lenard scored just eight seconds into the contest to put the Lords ahead of the Terriers. Less than a minute later, Justin Coleman doubled up the lead with his 16th goal of the season. Both goals were assisted by Trey Trudell.

Lenard and Coleman both scored once more as part of the seven-goal first quarter that began a flood of scoring. Each player's second goal was scored just seven seconds apart late in the first to put the Lords six up.

In addition to the avalanche of offense, they also displayed a stout defense that limited Hiram to just one goal. The Lords shut out the Terriers through three quarters and held the hosts to just seven shots and forcing 11 turnovers through the first half alone. After freshman goalkeeper Patrick Shevelson pitched in a scoreless half with six saves, Justin Sheehan entered the game and matched his teammate's save total while allowing the lone Hiram goal in the fourth quarter.

After taking a 9-0 lead into halftime, the Lords came back out and put eight more goals on the board over the final 30:00 of play. Arlia led the Lords with three goals, all coming in the fourth quarter. Also putting up multiple goals were Patrick Kim and Dan Muller.

The Lords set a new season high in goals scored (17), points (23), shots on goal (32), and ground balls (51) in the victory. It also marked a new top defensive performance on the season, topping their previous best in fewest goals allowed set against Mount Union (2) on March 16. The Lords forced 25 turnovers and recovered 51 groundballs to the Terriers' 19.

Kenyon (7-6, 3-2 NCAC) has now won six of their last eight heading into their final two games of the regular season. They will close their schedule with two North Coast Athletic Conference games beginning on the road against The College of Wooster on April 17 and DePauw University on April 20 at home.
