LANCASTER, Pa.  – The Kenyon College men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-6 defeat at the hands of Franklin & Marshall College Wednesday afternoon at Tylus Field. Phil Alimam and Justin Coleman scored twice but a seven-goal first quarter for the Diplomats set the tone in Kenyon's loss.

Franklin & Marshall (2-2) scored the game's first three goals to take an early advantage over the Lords (2-2). Coming out of a timeout, Kenyon got on the board when Coleman scored the first of his pair a little over a minute after breaking the huddle, but the Diplomats responded by blocking a shot attempt and taking it the other way for the score.

With the score 4-2 following Coleman's second lamp lighter, F&H scored seven unanswered goals to pull away from the Lords. After the end of the first quarter, the Diplomats led the match 7-2 and then scored four more times in the second quarter while keeping Kenyon out of the net.

Kenyon would not score again until the midway point of the third quarter when Alimam hit the back of the net for the first time. Despite the Lords outscoring the Diplomats 3-1 in the third quarter, F&H returned the favor in the fourth.

The Diplomat's Ben Ross led both offenses with three goals while his teammate Bill Kempner score twice and added three assists. Goaltender Cameron Setian earned the win after making a pair of saves in 50:46 before turning the reigns over to Timothy Mattessich to close out the game.

In addition to Coleman and Alimam's two goals, Caleb Florence and Fritz Waine also got on the board with one goal apiece.  Patrick Shevelson made eight saves in the loss.

The Lords are now 2-2 overall and play Drew University (1-1) on March 8 in their next action. The opening draw is set for 3:30 p.m. from Madison, New Jersey.
