GAMBIER, Ohio  – The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team celebrated its Senior Day in dominant fashion, defeating Hiram College 18-1 on Wednesday afternoon. Members of the Class of 2014 combined to score 11 goals and notch five assists while improving to 8-3 overall on the season.

Seniors Kate Lang and Margaret Armstrong served as bookends to the Ladies' scoring. Lang notched the first of her two goals just 1:36 into the game with a strong drive to the net. Hiram (3-8, 0-3 NCAC) countered just over a minute later off of a free position shot, but after that Kenyon blasted 17 straight goals to dictate the outcome of the contest.

Opportunities for the Terriers' offense to score were few with Kenyon's stout defense at work. The Ladies induced 11 first-half turnovers and limited Hiram to just one shot, its lone goal, in the first 30 minutes of play. The Terriers mustered only four shots throughout the game.

Kenyon (8-3, 2-2 NCAC) controlled all statistical categories by outshooting the Terriers by 35 attempts and picked up 12 ground balls to Hiram's seven. The Ladies limited their turnovers, committing eight to Hiram's 18.

Amy Morgan's magic number was four after leading the Ladies with an eight-point day. She scored four times and equaled that number in assists. She also led the Ladies with four ground balls.

A total of nine Kenyon players recorded at least one goal with six tallying multiple scores. Senior Susie Gurzenda made noise by scoring a pair of goals in addition to two ground balls.

The Ladies' next two contests will be on the road against Allegheny College on April 12 and The College of Wooster on April 19.
