The Ladies fell to Otterbein and Case Western Reserve today at the Otterbein Classic.WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Kenyon College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Saturday falling in three sets to No. 23 Otterbein University and Case Western Reserve University.
The matches were a part of the Otterbein Classic.
In the first match, the Ladies battled the Cardinals and held a 25-24 lead before the hosts reeled off three straight points to take set one.
The remaining sets weren't as close as Kenyon fell by scores of 25-13 and 25-17.
Tierney McClure had five kills and a team-high eight digs while
Lauren Kerr added five kills of her own.
Hannah Shank handed out 12 assists.
In match two against Case Western, the Spartans had no trouble getting by the Ladies winning 25-5, 25-17 and 25-14.
McClure had nine kills to lead the Ladies while Shank tied for the match-high with 15 assists.
Rachael Thorson and Shank paced Kenyon's defense with eight digs each.
Kenyon will look to bounce back next weekend as it travels to Richmond, Ind., to take part in the Earlham Quaker Classic. The Ladies will face off against the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Earlham College September 6 starting at 4 p.m.
