Freshman Lauren Kerr smashed ten more kills and hit .333 Thursday night
in the Ladies' non-conference match at Muskingum.NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Freshman
Lauren Kerr racked up ten kills and senior
Hannah Shank distributed 19 assists, but that duo's efforts alone weren't enough to carry the Kenyon College volleyball team to victory at Muskingum University. The host Fighting Muskies held off the Ladies in a close first set and then ran away with a 25-23, 25-13, 25-16 non-conference win Thursday night .
Kerr's ten kills gives her a total of 114 for the season, just four behind fellow freshman
Tierney McClure, who had five kills Thursday. Kerr, however, hit at a .333 rate against the Muskies and leads the Ladies with a .310 attack percentage on the season. That's a rate that, if maintained, will rank top three among Kenyon's all-time single-season leaders.
Shank, a veteran leader, has already penned her name among the program's most prolific setters. Her team-high 19 assists at Muskingum gave her 233 on the season and 2,452 for her career, which puts her third all-time at Kenyon.
Junior
Katie Goulder matched McClure's five kills and senior
Kaitlyn Power added four. Goulder also came up with 14 digs, as did freshman libero
Rachael Thorson. McClure chipped in with a dozen digs and Shank tallied ten.
