GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon College Ladies lacrosse team will face off with The College of Wooster for the second time this season, this time in a North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal contest at John P. Papp Stadium on Thursday.
Â
This is Kenyon's first tournament appearance since 2013 and 16th overall. After putting together a regular season that produced a 13-4 mark, a program-record 12-game winning streak and a 6-2 NCAC record, Kenyon earned the No. 3 seed in the four-team tournament.
Â
Wooster, the No. 2 seed, was nearly perfect in the regular season. The Fighting Scots went 15-1 and 7-1 in the conference. That win total was the best single-season mark in program history. One of those victories came against the Ladies on April 24 by a 15-14 count.
Â
The victor of Thursday's contest will move on to play the winner of the other semifinal, which matches No. 1 seed Denison University versus No. 4 seed Oberlin College. That final will take place Sunday at the highest remaining seed.
Â
In their regular-season game with Wooster, the Ladies were near victory, battling all the way inside the final minute before falling by one.
Â
The Ladies enter the semifinal with a scoring average of 16.1 goals per game and a goals against average of just 9.1 goals per game. Wooster will check in with 17.8 scoring average and a 6.41 goals against average.
Â
As mandated by the conference ticket prices for the semifinal will be $7 for adults and $3 for children (18 and under). NCAC students who present a proper NCAC institution ID will be admitted free of charge.
