GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team is set to take on the top-ranked and defending champion, Salisbury University, in the third round of the 2022 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament on Saturday.

The Sea Gulls, led by Jim Nestor in his 21st season, come off a 15-4 win over Stevens. In 18 games this season, Salisbury averages 14.56 goals per game while allowing a shade under eight per contest. The Sea Gulls feature eight different players in double-digit scoring highlighted by Erin Scannell's 54 goals. In goal, Mary Claire Hisle boasts 110 saves while allowing 128 goals on the season. On defense, Salisbury, as a team, has caused 173 turnovers.

Kenyon enters with an overall record of 16-1 after a second-round win over Rhodes College. In the 15-14 win over the Lynx, the Ladies trailed by four late in the first half. Four straight goals allowed the Ladies to tie and take the lead to open the second half. Kenyon's lead didn't last long as Rhodes regained the advantage. In the fourth quarter, the Ladies battled back with another streak of goals, allowing them to build a lead they wouldn't relinquish. In the game, Caroline O'Neil led Kenyon with six goals and an assist. First-year goalkeeper Nola Garand faced a flurry of shots but tied her season-high in saves with 14.

The Ladies and Sea Gulls play at 2:30 on the campus of The College of New Jersey. The winner moves on to the national quarterfinal round where they will play the winner of TCNJ and SUNY Cortland.
