Ladies to host Fighting Scots in NCAC semifinal

CHAMPIONSHIP SITE

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team will open postseason play Wednesday as the No. 1-seeded team in the four-team North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament. The Ladies will host the No. 4-seeded Fighting Scots of The College of Wooster.

Kenyon (13-1) earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament by racking up a perfect 7-0 conference record during the regular season. One of those seven wins was recorded last week, when the Ladies went to Wooster to defeat the Fighting Scots, 15-6.

Wooster (13-4) claimed the tournament's No. 4 seed with a 4-3 conference mark. No. 2-seeded Denison University will host No. 3-seeded DePauw University in the tournament's other semifinal game. The winners of the semifinals will then meet in Saturday's final, which will be played at the home site of the highest remaining seed.

The Ladies' appearance in the NCAC Tournament will be their third within the last decade. Under current head coach Jess Good, the Ladies last made an appearance in the 2019 tournament, but were eliminated in the first round by Wooster.

Since the NCAC Tournament began, Kenyon and Wooster have met ten times, with Wooster winning six of those match-ups.

The Ladies enter the game on an 11-game winning streak and they lead all conference teams in least amount of goals allowed (96), as well as goals against average (6.86). Wooster, which is 2-3 in its last five games, comes into the contest as the conference's top-scoring team, averaging 15.47 goals per game.

The semifinal game will be played on The Field at Benson Bowl and has a 1 p.m. start time. As mandated by the league office, tickets for the game are $7 for adults and $3 for children (18 and under). NCAC students with a valid institution ID will be admitted free of charge.
