Ladies face Big Red for NCAC title

NCAC CHAMPIONSHIP SITE

GAMBIER, Ohio – For the first time since 2002, the Kenyon College women's lacrosse team is set to meet the Denison University Big Red for the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Tournament Championship. The opening draw control between the Ladies and Big Red is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Field at Benson Bowl.

Kenyon (14-1, 7-0 NCAC) enters the game as the No. 1 seed in the tournament after defeating No. 4-seeded The College of Wooster, 20-8, on Wednesday. In the regular season, the Ladies snapped Denison's 45-game regular-season conference winning streak that dated back to 2015. In that home win for Kenyon, the Ladies led 6-1 at halftime and walked away with an 8-6 victory.

No. 2 seed Denison (11-5, 6-1 NCAC) comes into the title game after holding off No. 3 DePauw University in Granville. The Big Red jumped out to a 7-1 lead before going on to win their semifinal game, 15-10.

The winner of Saturday's championship earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament starting on May 14. The NCAA announces the remainder of the Division III field on Monday with their online selection show starting at 10:30 a.m.

As mandated by the league office, tickets for Saturday's match are $7 for adults and $3 for children (18 and under). NCAC students with a valid institution ID will be admitted free of charge.
