GAMBIER, Ohio – Kenyon College head softball coach Emily Miller announced recently the hiring of Emily Engel, who joins the Owls staff as an assistant coach prior to the 2024 season.

Engel comes to the Kenyon program after a four-year career at NCAA Division I University of Massachusetts Lowell, where she played first base and appeared in 38 career games with 20 starts. She graduated in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in political science and legal studies.

During and after her college years, Engel, a native of West Jefferson, Ohio, filled a variety of roles in the political landscape, including serving as a consultant and lobbyist, a legislative aide and an intern.             

Now, reigniting her passion for softball, Engel joins Miller on the recruiting trail and in the dugout as the two work together to revamp the Kenyon program.
