Owls close fall slate at Historic Triangle Invite

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Kenyon College women's golf team finished its inaugural fall season on Tuesday, competing in the Historic Triangle Invitational at Kingsmill Resort.

Led by good rounds from Sasha Belova and Jane Fanning, the Owls finished in 14th place at 125 over par.

Belova carded Kenyon's best round of round one at the 5,639-yard River Course at Kingsmill, firing a 79 in her first 18. She finished at three over par on the front nine and four over on the back, making eleven pars on the day. The first-year drained three birdies in round two and finished with an 80. Her +15 score put her in a tie for 43rd on the individual leaderboard, the Owls' highest finisher out of 79 golfers.

In round two, it was Fanning who stole the show with the team's best showing. Her 79 tied Belova for best round of any Kenyon golfer, making one birdie along the way. Back in round one, she made one more birdie, shooting 84 and winding up at T53 on the individual leaderboard.

Next up for the Owls was Camryn Nelson, who was one spot behind Fanning in a tie for 56th on the tournament at 20 over par. She opened the tournament with an 84 before making one birdie en route to an 80 in round two.

Macy Printy finished at +71 for the tournament, shooting 108 and 107 respectively highlighted with a birdie in round two, while Madeline Meimaridis rounded out the Kenyon quintet at 107 over par for the two rounds.

Emory College took home the top spot with a 12 over par score, while Carnegie Mellon University was not far behind at 13 over, and Grinnell College ended in third at +29.
