Owls finalize 15th place at Tartan Invitational

FARMINGTON, Pa. -- Playing a bit short-handed, the Kenyon College women's golf team finished off Carnegie Mellon University's two-day Tartan Invitational on Tuesday with a team score of 737 strokes and a 15th-place finish.

Due to academic obligations, the Owls played both rounds with four golfers, instead of the normal team of five. That Kenyon quartet consisted of Sasha Belova, Camryn Nelson, Jane Fanning, and Madeline Meimaridis.

Belova, a first-year, led the way for the Owls at the par-72 course at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. Monday, Belova carded three birdies and scored a round of 80. In rainy conditions on Tuesday, she returned to fire a round of 81 that included two more birdies. Her final total of 161 put her in a tie for 55th place in a field of 84 golfers.

Nelson and Fanning, also both first-year student-athletes, posted final two-day tallies of 170 and 171, respectively. Nelson's rounds were scored 88 and 82, while Fanning put up scores of 84 and 87. Nelson finished in a tie for 71st place and Fanning finished 73rd.

Meimaridis, a sophomore, rounded out the Kenyon foursome with scores of 126 and 109, giving her a two-day total of 235.

Kenyon, playing its first season of NCAA competition, will conclude the fall portion of its 2025-26 schedule with a trip to Williamsburg, Virginia to play in the Historic Triangle Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport University. That two-day event will get underway on Monday, October 20.
