Three Owls take home USILA All-America honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced its annual All-America teams on Thursday, and for the third straight season, three Kenyon College men's lacrosse student-athletes were selected as All-Americans. Rollins Heath and Thomas Nelson earned USILA All-America awards for the third straight season, while Adam Hall hauled in his first career All-America honor.

The Kenyon men's lacrosse program did not have three USILA All-Americans in the same season from 1957 to 2022, but the Owls have had three student-athletes earn the honor for three consecutive years. All three of this year's winners were named to the USILA All-America Team as honorable mentions. Nelson was a third-teamer last season after an honorable mention in 2023, while Heath has been an honorable mention in each of the last three seasons.

Heath and Nelson are a pair of senior stalwarts whose awards made history for the program. The duo became the only three-year and three-time All-Americans in program history. After also making a pair of USA Lacrosse All-America Teams over the last two seasons, Nelson is a six-time All-American. His six All-America awards are tied with Erika Oku '21 (women's tennis) for the College's most career All-America awards earned by a student-athlete not on the men's or women's swimming and diving teams since 2000. Caryn Cuthbert '00, another women's tennis player, graduated as a seven-time All-American.

Nelson's name can be found throughout the Kenyon record books, finishing as the program's all-time leader in ground balls (619), ground balls per game (8.72), faceoff wins (902), and faceoff winning percentage (.685). This season, Nelson slotted into third in the single-season records for all four categories, trailing only his own records over the last two campaigns. The senior also set the career single-game record for faceoff wins (27) and ground balls (22) this season and twice tied his single-game record with a flawless 1.000 faceoff percentage on two occasions. In the national record books, Nelson is 13th in NCAA Division III men's lacrosse history in ground balls, tied for 13th in faceoff wins, and 24th in faceoff winning percentage.

Heath also finishes his Kenyon career amongst the program's all-time leaders. The midfielder closes his career with the 13th-most points in Kenyon history at 156, and his 70 career assists rank 14th all-time. This season, Heath led the team with 21 assists, and his 39 points ranked third. The senior was no stranger to clutch moments, leading the team with three game-winning goals, and his 18 total goals ranked fourth.

Despite being just a junior, Hall also has his name in the Kenyon record books. After securing 193 saves, the goalkeeper ranks sixth all-time with 586 stops. Hall started all 16 of Kenyon's games in the cage, and he posted a career-best .561 save percentage. His 44 ground balls ranked second on the team, and he even got in the scorebook with a goal.
