GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Outdoor Track and Field Championships came to a close on Saturday, marking an end to Kenyon College's men's outdoor track and field season. The Owls finished the two-day meet at DePauw University's Blackstock Stadium in 8th place after tallying 40 points, matching last year's finish.
Saturday's results saw Kenyon keep up its strong showings in distance events, and two distance races accounted for 20 of the team's 28 day-two points. The team's best individual finish of the meet came in the 1,500-meter race, where Charlie Blackmer claimed a spot on the podium. The first-year finished third with a time of 3:59.07, a personal-best for Blackmer and a season-best for the Owls. William Wilson also set a career-best time in his fifth-place finish. The senior clocked in at 4:02.49, helping the Owls score 10 points in the event.
Kenyon got 10 more points in the 5,000-meter race, where just like in yesterday's 3,000-meter steeplechase, the trio of Peter Bernhardt, Colt Murphy, and Owen Rodstrom added to the scoring. All three Owls completed the event with career-best times, and Bernhardt led the way with a fourth-place finish. The senior clocked in at 15:14.32, just ahead of Murphy (15:20.03) in fifth. Rodstrom rounded out the Owls trio, placing eighth at 15:26.72.
The Owls scored points in two other running events, the 800-meter race and the 4x400-meter relay. Blackmer brought in a point in the 800, where he finished eighth at 2:02.71. The first-year also anchored the 4x400 relay, teaming up with Marius Mazeika, Josh Greville, and Emmanuel Makelele. The quartet crossed the finish line with a time of 3:23.89, good for sixth place and three points.
In field events, Josh Greville garnered the team's lone scoring finish. The junior placed 5th in the triple jump, where his best leap measured 12.94 meters (42-5 ½). Fellow junior J'Sun Gardner was just 1.80 meters out of scoring position in the javelin throw, finishing ninth with a 45.26-meter (148-6) toss.
Wabash College defended last season's NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championship, winning the team title with 172.5 points. Denison University finished second with 137.5 points, while Wittenberg University tallied 130.5 points to round out the podium placements.
