CLEVELAND – After starting the 2026 outdoor season last weekend at the Emory Classic in Atlanta, Georgia, Kenyon College men's track and field distance specialist Charlie Blackmer brought in the North Coast Athletic Conference's (NCAC) Athlete of the Week Award for his performance in the 5,000 meter race.
Blackmer bested the 63 person field by over four seconds, clocking in at 14:52.14. His finish not only won him the event, but also eclipsed the sophomore's best mark. The award was the third weekly conference honor for Blackmer in his young career.
The Owls will be back on the track on March 28 for its first outdoor meet back in Ohio for the season, competing in the Denison Lid Lifter in Granville.
