Three Owls land on CSC Academic All-District Team

GAMBIER, Ohio -- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday that three members of the Kenyon College women's lacrosse team were named to the 2024-25 NCAA Division III At-Large Academic All-District Team. The Kenyon trio included Blythe Karras, Spencer Kirsch, and Bridgette Cassidy

In order to be considered for the At-Large Academic All-District Team, a nominee had to be on the team's active roster for at least two years and had to possess at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average. Additionally, for lacrosse, the nominee had to compete in 90 percent of the team's games and/or had to start 66 percent of those games.

The CSC At-Large program includes nominees from 12 different NCAA women's sports (two of which Kenyon currently offers), and limits each institution to six nominees. Kenyon filled that allotment with the three lacrosse honorees, as well as three more honorees from the field hockey team.

Karras, a recent graduate, gained her degree in psychology. On the field, she led the Owls this past season with 59 points on 27 goals and a team-high 32 assists. Her assist total was third best in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and her average of 2.00 assists per game ranked second best among all players in the conference. At the end of the season, Karras was named an All-NCAC player for the second straight season. The CSC Academic All-District award was also her second in as many seasons.

Kirsch is a first-time recipient of the Academic All-District award. She was a junior during the 2025 season and she tied for the team lead with 30 goals. Eight of those came from free-position shots, also tying a team-high. Additionally, Kirsch, a double major in psychology and Spanish, logged 31 draw controls and 24 ground balls, both top-three marks among her teammates. At season's end, she was named to the All-NCAC third team.

Cassidy, who just finished her sophomore campaign, was also a first-time recipient of the Academic All-District award. Like Kenyon's two other honorees, she is a psychology major. On the turf, Cassidy focused on draw controls and usually came off the bench to provide a spark. She ended up ranked second on the team with 34 draw controls. She also racked up 18 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers, and five goals.

Kenyon's three Academic All-District honorees made significant contributions to an Owls team that posted a 7-9 overall record, including a 3-3 record in NCAC play.
