Kenyon women collect IWLCA academic accolades

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released today its annual list of Academic Honor Roll members, as well as its list of teams that were named Academic Honor Squads. The Kenyon College Owls not only earned the team award, but also had six student-athletes haul in individual accolades.

The tag of IWLCA Academic Honor Squad was earned by those lacrosse teams, across all divisions in the NCAA and NAIA, that possessed a grade point average of 3.20 or better for the 2024-25 academic year. The Owls had no issue with that mark, checking in with a team grade point average of 3.43 to secure their 12th straight award and their 16th award in the past 20 seasons.

The group of Kenyon student-athletes who landed on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll included seniors Mallory Brophy and Blythe Karras, as well as juniors Spencer Kirsch, Ella Rigoli, Cecily Torres, and Elena Zuvekas. Recipients of the award had to be a junior, senior, or graduate student and had to maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater.

Brophy, who graduated with degrees in Spanish and psychology, and Karras, who graduated with a degree in psychology, were both two-time members of the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll. Kirsch, also majoring in Spanish and psychology, will return for her senior year in 2025-26. Joining her, Rigoli will continue her studies in economics, Torres in sociology, and Zuvekas in both international studies and Spanish.

On the field, the 2024-25 Owls posted a 7-9 overall record, including a 3-3 North Coast Athletic Conference record that put them in a three-way tie for third place.
