Kenyon duo fares well at Denison

Box Score GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Two members of the Kenyon College men's tennis team competed over the weekend in the Big Red Invitational, hosted by Denison University. Of the few matches that the Kenyon players were involved in, the Owls doubles team of Sree Kondaveeti and Rohan Sriram cranked out the best results.

Kondaveeti, a first-year, and Sriram, a sophomore, put together a perfect 3-0 record. Saturday, the two got things started with a 6-3 win over Enrique Margain and Cameron Weiss of Oberlin College.

On Sunday, Kondaveeti and Sriram returned to post a couple more wins. The first of those two was by a 6-3 score over Max Brose and Oliver Knijnenburg of Oberlin. The other Kenyon win came by a 6-4 final against Zain Makada and Dash Smith, also from Oberlin.

In singles play, the Owls did not fare as well. Sriram was unable to notch a win in three attempts, while Kondaveeti went 1-1. His victory was by a 6-3, 6-4 count against Brose.

The match ended the fall portion of the Kenyon tennis schedule. The team will return to competition with indoor matches slated for early February.
