CLEVELAND, Ohio – The North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) announced its Athletes of the Week for January 20, with sophomore Noa Helmbrecht earning the Women's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honor following a standout performance at the Wooster Invitational.
Helmbrecht helped power the Owls to a second-place team finish by delivering one of Kenyon's top individual performances of the day. She added the team's third event victory by winning the 60-meter dash in 8.09 seconds, edging the runner-up by 0.06 seconds. The time marked the third-fastest performance of her career in the event.
The sophomore also turned in a strong showing in the 200 meters, placing third with a time of 27.44 while leading two teammates in the race.
In relay action, Helmbrecht teamed up with Ari Sobel, Georgia Yatrakis, and Addilyn Tober in the 4x200 relay, combining for a 1:48.03 finish that earned second place.
Helmbrecht and the Owls will look to carry their strong showing forward as they return to Wooster on Saturday, January 24, with an 11:00 a.m. start.
