Hasse, Wangerow named NFHCA National Scholars of Distinction

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Excellence within Kenyon College's field hockey program continues to shine on the national stage, as Sophomores Zady Hasse and Olivia Wangerow earned recognition from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association as 2025 Collegiate National Scholars of Distinction.

Hasse and Wangerow were among 1,028 outstanding undergraduate NCAA student-athletes honored nationwide. The NFHCA National Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a remarkable 3.90 cumulative GPA or higher through the fall semester and are nominated by their NFHCA member coaches.

Hasse proved to be a steady force in the Owl midfield throughout the 2025 campaign. Appearing in all 16 matches and earning 14 starts, she provided consistent energy and composure while contributing one assist on the season.

Wangerow was equally impactful on both ends of the field. One of four Owls to lead the team in starts with 15, she also appeared in all 16 contests. Her lone goal of the season came at a pivotal moment in a matchup against The College of Wooster, where she netted one of Kenyon's two tallies in a hard-fought victory.
