Owls recognized nationally for academic excellence

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Kenyon College field hockey team once again demonstrated that its commitment to excellence extends well beyond the turf, as the program earned recognition from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) during the 2025 academic awards cycle.

Kenyon was named to the 2025 NFHCA Collegiate National Academic Team, an honor awarded to programs that achieved a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.50 or higher during the fall semester. A total of 157 programs across all NCAA divisions earned the distinction, including 78 Division III institutions, placing the Owls among the nation's top academic programs.

The national academic accolades come on the heels of a competitive 2025 campaign in which the Owls generated 21 goals, the fourth-most in the conference, while firing 171 total shots, including 97 on target. Defensively, the Owls ranked third in the conference with 132 saves, a testament not only to goalkeeper Sofia Chaves' efforts in the cage, but to the collective discipline and resilience of the Kenyon back line.
