RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – The Kenyon College women's golf team teed it up in its first event of the season over the weekend, competing in the Music City Shootout from Rolling Hills Golf Course.

After firing a +41 on Saturday's opening round and following it up with a +40 in round two, the Owls landed in second place with a +81 total score to land in second place out of five teams.

Rafa Plasa led the Kenyon group, ending up at +18 after 36 holes. She carded a 43 in the opening nine holes before holing two birdies en route to a 39 on the back nine for an 82 in round one. After an eight over 44 through the first nine on Sunday, Plasa shot even par to close the tournament with an 80, tying for the best Owls' round of the tournament. Her finish was good enough to tie for fifth on the 31-player leaderboard.

Jane Fanning and Sasha Belova finished eighth and ninth respectively, ending their 36 holes at +19 and +20. Fanning posted two birdies in her opening nine holes on the way to an 81. In round two, she drained three circles and finished at 82. An 80 with two birdies tied Belova for the team's best round, while three double bogeys in round two left her at 84 for her final 18 holes.

Despite making four double bogeys in round one, Camryn Nelson's two birdies and a nice string of pars left her at 86 after 18 holes. Her 82 in round two slotted her at +24 for the tournament and 13th on the individual leaderboard.

Macy Printy and Madeline Meimaridis rounded out the Kenyon squad, as Printy shot 89 in round one and followed it up with a 97 in round two to finish at +42 and 18th place for the weekend. Meimaridis fired a 115 and 110 respectively to round out the team at +81.

As a team, Kenyon ranked first in birdies (14) and second in pars (61), while taking second in par three (3.55), par four (4.78) and par five (5.58) scoring.
