Kenyon closes regular season with runner up finish

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – The Kenyon College women's golf team wrapped up its inaugural regular season on Sunday with the DePauw University Spring Clash from Pebble Brook Golf Club. 

Led by Sasha Belova's one over finish after two rounds, the Owls took second place out of three teams with a 614 (+54) total score, making it the fifth straight top two finish for the team. 

Belova opened round one with a two over 72, carding one birdie. She fired the co-lowest round of the tournament in round two, a one-under 69 that included two birdies and an eagle on the par four seventh hole to wind up second on the individual leaderboard. 

In fourth place on the individual leaderboard was Rafa Plasa, who finished 36 holes at 14 over par. She made one birdie in round one en route to a 78 and came back with a 76 in round two that included two circles. 

Third on the team and tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard was Camryn Nelson, who ended at +17 for the tournament. She made one birdie in round one and finished at 76 before shooting an 81 in the second round. 

Jane Fanning was next up for Kenyon, sitting in a tie for eighth at +22. She fired two 81s and made three birdies combined. Macy Printy rounded out the Owls five and placed tenth at +42, carding an 88 and a 94 respectively. 

Host DePauw came away with the victory at 39 over par for the tournament, and Benedictine took third at +191. 

Kenyon will be back on the course for the first round of the North Coast Athletic Conference championship on Friday, May 1 from Avalon Golf and Country Club in Warren, Ohio.
