Owls to face Scots in NCAC semifinals

GAMBIER, Ohio – The 2026 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) postseason is set, and the Kenyon College women's lacrosse team earned the third seed in the upcoming four-team tournament. The Owls' 5-2 conference record paved the way for the program's sixth straight postseason appearance, one that will commence Wednesday against The College of Wooster at John P. Papp Stadium.

Wooster finished the regular season at 15-1, with the lone loss coming to top-seeded Denison University. Denison will host No. 4-seeded John Carroll University in Wednesday's other NCAC semifinal game. Depending on the winners of those semifinals, the two advancing teams will meet either Saturday or Sunday to battle in the tournament final.

Kenyon opened the season with an exciting win against Mount Union before taking on a slate of tough teams in Colorado and Michigan, eventually ending the non-conference schedule at 4-5. After opening up conference play 1-2, the Owls rattled off an impressive four-game win streak to close the regular season at 5-2 in the NCAC and 9-7 overall to earn a spot in the postseason.

Spencer Kirsh and Charlotte Skelly headline an offense for Kenyon that ranks fourth, among all conference teams, in goals per game (12.56) and total goals (201). Kirsch leads the team with 42 points on 36 goals and six assists, while Skelly sits at 41 points (32 goals, nine assists). Lily Mason continues to have a big impact all across the field, ranking fourth on the team in points (30) and first in caused turnovers (23) and draw controls (46), helping fortify a defense that ranks sixth in the NCAC in goals allowed (186) and seventh in caused turnovers (138). Meagan Lacombe has started all 16 games for Kenyon in between the pipes, making 116 saves and holding a .403 save percentage.

On the other side of the field, the Owls will face a Wooster team that has three of the top-five goal scorers in the conference, and lead the NCAC with 295 goals (18.44 per game). Defensively, the Fighting Scots ranked second in the conference with 122 goals allowed in 16 games played (7.70 GAA).

Earlier this season, the two teams met on Kenyon's Field at Benson Bowl. Kenyon held a 6-5 lead at halftime, but Wooster rallied over the final 30 minutes of play to register an 18-11 victory. Including the result of that contest, the two teams have split their last six confrontations, dating back to the 2022 season.

In NCAC Tournament play, Kenyon and Wooster previously matched up 11 times with the Fighting Scots holding a 6-5 edge in those games.

The opening draw for Kenyon and Wooster will beat 6:30 p.m. On-site tickets are free for students with a valid ID card from an NCAC institution, and are $7 for adults and $3 for children (18 & under). Tickets can also be purchased online, with a $1 fee, using the conference's Hometown Ticketing platform.
