CLEVELAND – After pacing the field in the 800 meters at the Wooster Invitational, Kenyon College sophomore Charlie Blackmer was selected as the Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week by the North Coast Athletic Conference. The award marks the fourth weekly conference honor of Blackmer's young career.

Competing in Kenyon's first scored outdoor meet of the season, Blackmer turned in the Owls' top performance of the weekend. The sophomore crossed the line first in the 800 with a time of 1:54.47, finishing ahead of a large field of 49 runners to claim the event title.

Blackmer contributed ten of the Owls totaled 34 points and finished ninth in a 13-team field at the meet.

The Owls continue their outdoor campaign this weekend at the All-Ohio Championship in Delaware, Ohio, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on April 10-11.
