First-years make mark on All-NCAC Team

CLEVELAND -- Having just completed its first year of NCAA competition, the Kenyon College women's golf team continued to exceed expectations Monday, as three first-year members of the program were selected to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Team.

Sasha Belova and Rafa Plasa both earned a spot among the All-NCAC First Team picks, while Camryn Nelson scored a spot on the Third Team. Additionally, Plasa was voted the NCAC Newcomer of the Year, and Evan Williams was voted the NCAC Coach of the Year.

Plasa, who played on the Kenyon soccer team in the fall, joined the golf team for the spring portion of its inaugural season. She played in six events and had top-five individual finishes in all six. At the conference championship tournament, she took medalist honors, winning on the second playoff hole against Belova.

While Plasa edged Belova in that playoff, Belova, who played in all 10 events throughout the season posted a team-best 77.05 scoring average, which was a tick better than Plasa's average of 77.50. Belova also turned in six top-five individual finishes and captured medalist trophies at Allegheny College's Kuhn Memorial Invitational and at The College of Wooster's Eva Shorb Weiskopf Invitational.

Nelson improved steadily throughout the season. She, too, played in all 10 events and posted a scoring average of 83.05. She finished within the top-10 in her final five events and that included a ninth-place finish at the conference championship.

Williams collected his coaching award after guiding the first-year program, with all first-year collegiate players on the roster, to a runner-up finish at the NCAC Championship. In the final six events on the 2025-26 schedule, the team finished no worse than runner-up, and for a month-long stretch won three straight tournaments.
