Brown bolts into NCAA field, earns Championship berth

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA announced its field of student-athlete qualifiers for the upcoming 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and Kenyon College's Anna Brown earned a spot on the national stage.

Brown was selected to compete in the 800-meter run, registering the 22nd and final qualifying time in a field of 22 competitors. The national meet is set to run from May 21-24 at the Veterans Memorial Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The 800-meter prelims are scheduled for Friday, May 22, with Brown's race projected to begin at 3:20 p.m. Should she advance out of the preliminary round, Brown would move on to Saturday's final, which is slated for a 2:50 p.m. start.

After multiple races and several late-season attempts to push into the NCAA field, Brown finally broke through last week at the Widener Final Qualifier. The Kenyon standout not only secured her qualifying mark, but she also rewrote her own program record in the process, clocking in at 2:10.65. The performance marked another chapter in Brown's steady climb up Kenyon's all-time list. She initially set the Owls' 800-meter record on May 10, 2024, when she crossed the line in 2:14.43. Nearly two years later, Brown lowered that mark to 2:11.72 on March 21, 2026, before trimming it down once again with last week's NCAA-clinching time.

Brown's national qualification adds to an already decorated 2026 campaign. The Massachusetts native has collected multiple NCAC Athlete of the Week honors throughout her career and is a two-time All-NCAC performer in the 800-meter run. Overall, Brown has earned three Outdoor Track and Field All-NCAC honors and four Indoor Track and Field All-NCAC honors. She also garnered 2026 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region recognition during the indoor season in the 800-meter, further solidifying her as one of the best to represent the purple and white.

Now, after chasing the NCAA standard throughout the spring, Brown will carry Kenyon's colors to Wisconsin with a chance to extend her record-breaking season on the Division III national stage.
