CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Eleni Lazaridou's final singles match in a Kenyon College uniform came Friday morning on the national stage, as the senior bowed out of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles Championships in the opening round at the Champions Tennis Club.
Facing Emory University's Izabele Antanavicius, Lazaridou ran into a tough test right out of the gate. Antanavicius grabbed the early momentum and took the opening set 6-2 before keeping her foot on the gas in the second, closing out the match with a 6-1 decision.
While Friday's first-round result ended Lazaridou's singles run, it did little to dim what has been one of the most decorated careers in Kenyon women's tennis history. The senior finishes her final singles season with a 19-7 overall record, having carried the Owls from the No. 1 spot all year while taking on some of the toughest competition Division III had to offer.
Lazaridou's résumé speaks for itself. She leaves Kenyon as a four-time All-NCAC First Team selection, a three-time All-American, and the first women's tennis player in the conference to collect four Player of the Year awards. She also closed her singles career with an 81-18 overall record, with her 81 victories ranking third all-time in program history.
