INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced Monday that the Kenyon College men's tennis team has secured a spot in the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship.
The Owls earned a first-round bye and will await the winner of a first-round matchup between No. 23 Gustavus Adolphus College (19-9) and Greenville University (20-6). Kenyon's second-round match will be played May 8-9, with the first, second, and third rounds hosted on the campus of the University of Chicago.
Kenyon earned its 25th NCAA Tournament bid in program history and second straight appearance after putting together a strong regular season. The Owls enter the national tournament with a 21-4 overall record and a No. 11 national ranking in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) poll.
The Owls secured their spot as an at-large selection thanks to a resume stacked with key ranked wins. Kenyon collected victories over No. 43 Washington and Lee University, No. 22 Grinnell College, No. 25 Christopher Newport University, No. 29 Oberlin College, No. 24 Skidmore College, and No. 30 DePauw University throughout the season.
The winner of the first-round match between Gustavus Adolphus and Greenville will advance to face the Owls in the second round. Gustavus Adolphus enters the tournament after winning its 18th Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship and 15th straight conference crown, sweeping Carleton College 4-0 in the final and finishing 9-0 in MIAC play. Greenville, meanwhile, enters the field as an unranked team after claiming the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference's automatic bid with a 4-0 win over Bethany Lutheran College in the UMAC Championship.
