Owls add individual bids to NCAA postseason run

GAMBIER, Ohio – The Kenyon College women's tennis team added another chapter to its 2025-26 campaign Wednesday, as three Owls were selected to compete in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Championships.

Senior Eleni Lazaridou was chosen to represent Kenyon in the 32-player singles championship field, while first-year Kiara Komlodi was named the eighth alternate for singles competition. In doubles, Lazaridou will team up with sophomore Hana Nouaime, as the duo earned one of 16 spots in the national doubles bracket.

The individual championships are scheduled for May 24-27 at the Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee, following the NCAA Division III team championship, which will run from May 20-23. The University of the South will serve as host. The singles and doubles draws will be released by the women's tennis committee on May 23, no earlier than 1 p.m. Eastern time.

Lazaridou's singles selection comes after another strong season at the top of Kenyon's lineup. Playing primarily at No. 1 singles, she has posted a 17-6 overall record, including a 13-4 mark in dual matches and a 3-1 record in NCAC play. She enters NCAA competition riding a four-match winning streak and has gone 7-3 over her last 10 singles contests.

Komlodi, in her first season with the Owls, quickly carved out a spot among the region's top players. The first-year standout leads Kenyon in singles wins with a 22-8 overall record, including a 16-6 dual-match mark and a perfect 6-0 record in conference play. She has competed throughout the top two singles courts, going 5-0 at No. 1 and 11-5 at No. 2, while closing the season on a six-match winning streak.

On the doubles side, Lazaridou and Nouaime have been Kenyon's steady force at the top of the lineup. The tandem owns a 18-7 overall record, including a 14-4 mark in dual matches and a flawless 5-0 record against NCAC opponents. The pairing is currently riding an eight win streak heading into the championship.

The NCAA selections come on the heels of a dominant run through conference play for Kenyon. The Owls enter the national stage with an 18-6 overall record, a perfect 9-0 NCAC mark, and a 10-0 record at home. Kenyon also captured its fourth straight NCAC Tournament title, punched its ticket to the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Team Championship, and currently holds the No. 14 national ranking.
