GAMBIER, Ohio – During conference play Wednesday at Mavec Field, the Kenyon College men's soccer team used a pair of rapid-fire goals to upset the No. 12-ranked Hiram College Terriers. The previously undefeated Terriers had not been shutout all season and had averaged better than three goals per contest.

For the majority of the game, Kenyon dominated play and even tallied a huge 15-3 advantage in shots through the first half. The early assault on the Terriers' net did not pay off, however, and the teams went into halftime locked in a scoreless tie.

In the second half, the Lords just kept knocking at the door until finally, at the 77:58 mark, they broke through. Off of a corner kick, junior Andrew Parmelee headed the ball toward the Terriers' goal. It bounced off a Hiram defender, who saved it from crossing the line, and back out to sophomore Sam Justice  who buried it into the back of the net. The goal was not only Justice's first of the season, but the first of his collegiate career.

That score would be all that Kenyon would need, but less than two minutes later the Lords struck again. This time is was senior J.J. Jemison who headed in a corner kick put into play by sophomore Rei Mitsuyama. The goal was Jemison's team-leading fourth of the season and the assist was Mitsuyama's first.

The signature win for the Lords improved their overall record to 6-4-2 and their North Coast Athletic Conference record to 2-0-2. Hiram fell to 11-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the NCAC.
