OBERLIN, Ohio (April 25, 2012) The Kenyon College women's lacrosse team took to the road Wednesday, rallied from two goals down, survived a late charge, and held on to beat the host Oberlin College Yeowomen, 9-8, in a conference contest. The win was the Ladies' third in a row and brought the team's season record to an even 7-7.

The start of the game went well for Kenyon with goals from junior Emily Nichols and sophomore Katherine Lang . Oberlin, however, netted the next four goals and got to the midway point with a 4-2 advantage.

In the second half, the script flipped and the Ladies took control. Senior Alicia Florin and Nichols fired in the second stanza's first two goals and ignited a Kenyon run that included six straight scores and covered a 14-minute span. Oberlin ended the flurry with a goal at the 13:12 mark, but Kenyon came right back to take a 9-5 lead with just 11:53 left in the game.

That last Kenyon goal, also scored by Florin, turned out to be the game-winner, as Oberlin charged back with three more goals, all coming on free position shots, down the stretch.

Florin finished with two goals and assist for the Ladies, while Nichols netted a team-high three goals. Lang also had two goals and junior Leah Sack had two assists, which pushed her past the century mark for her career.

The win for Kenyon put the Ladies into fourth place in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings and kept them alive for a berth in the postseason tournament. A win in the season-finale at Allegheny College on Saturday will ensure that Kenyon captures that postseason spot.
